Code of Conduct.
Active Minds – Code of Conduct
At Active Minds, we believe every young person deserves a safe, respectful, and supportive space to grow. Whether through creative activities, learning, or wellbeing-focused sessions, we’re here to help build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging.
This Code of Conduct outlines what we expect from everyone involved — participants, parents/carers, staff, facilitators, and volunteers — so we can all contribute to a positive experience.
1. Building a Respectful Community
Our sessions work best when everyone feels included, safe, and supported. That’s why we expect all members of the Active Minds community to:
· Treat others with kindness and fairness — always.
· Speak and act in ways that include and uplift others.
· Never take part in bullying, discrimination, or behaviour that excludes people.
We do not tolerate any words or actions that isolate, intimidate, or devalue others.
2. Focusing on Growth, Not Pressure
Active Minds is about trying new things, learning in your own way, and developing confidence — not about being perfect.
Here’s what that means:
· Facilitators guide activities with encouragement and care, focusing on creativity, teamwork, and wellbeing.
· Young people are supported to take part without fear of judgment — effort and curiosity are always valued over results.
· Parents, carers, and guests (when attending) are expected to be supportive, respectful, and positive toward all participants and staff.
Putting others down, making people feel pressured to perform, or disrupting activities is not acceptable and will be addressed.
3. Safety and Responsibility
The safety and wellbeing of young people comes first in everything we do. To help us maintain a safe environment:
· Participants must follow instructions from staff and facilitators.
· Any injuries, worries, or unsafe situations should be reported straight away.
· Risky, rough, or disrespectful behaviour won’t be allowed — even if it seems minor.
4. Role of Parents and Carers
Parents and carers play a key role in supporting their child’s experience. We ask that you:
· Share any important information (e.g. medical needs, allergies, or access needs) when booking or on arrival.
· Make sure your child arrives and is collected on time.
· Let us know of any concerns — we’re always here to listen and help.
5. If Problems Arise
We take any behaviour that goes against this Code seriously. If there are issues:
· A staff member will speak to the young person (and parent/carer if needed) to address what happened.
· Depending on the situation, this may lead to a warning, a short break from sessions, or permanent removal.
· All decisions will follow our Safeguarding Policy, always putting the young person’s wellbeing first.
Final Word
By joining Active Minds sessions, every young person and adult agrees to follow this Code of Conduct.
Together, we can create a space where everyone feels safe, welcome, and free to be themselves.
Let’s keep Active Minds a positive place to grow.
